ABOUT US

Welcome to Gruver HS!  For more information about our school please see the links above and below.

Amarillo Women’s Network has established a scholarship fund to support the educational goals of deserving individuals who seek to improve their career potential.  The $750 AWN scholarships are awarded annually for the following school year (fall and spring semesters) to recipients who have demonstrated leadership ability and initiative in their past educational and work efforts and who are pursuing a degree which will enable them to reach their professional goals.  Financial need is not the primary consideration.

Deadline for submission of applications with attachments shall be April 1 each year and must be in the hands of the committee chair by 5:00 p.m. that day.

Visit the AWN website at https://www.amarillowomensnetwork.org/services/ for the guidelines and application. If you have questions, contact Glena McPeters at glena.mcpeters@gmail.com.

The Gruver FFA had seven students travel to Portales, NM on February 23rd to a horse judging clinic. The clinic was put on by Clarendon College and Eastern New Mexico State University. The clinic is focused on helping students expand and sharpen their horse evaluation skills. The future of Gruver FFA horse judging teams looks very bright.

The Gruver FFA Show team competed at the San Antonio Barrow show this past week. We had 11 students take hogs that they had been feeding since August down to the show. Each of these students and their families worked hard all season and the hard work and effort they each put in did not go unnoticed. There were several compliments from other ag advisors and leaders in the show pig industry that noticed the quality of the livestock we brought and the students abilities to show their animals at the elite level. Quirk said, "I am very proud of our families and students for their dedication and willingness to push through the adversities we encountered this season and how we as Gruver FFA were represented at the show, the best truly is yet to come."
