The Gruver Family and Consumer Science(FCS) classes and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) have been busy this fall with many activities and events. The year started off with the FCCLA officer team meeting in August to get organized for the 2018-19 school year, develop the FCCLA calendar, design and order t-shirts and plan events and activities. September 4th the annual FCCLA/FFA cookout was held in the city park. Students enjoyed some good food and fun games carried out by the FCCLA and FFA officers. The FCCLA held its ZAK’S Cheese Sale and took orders September 5th-19th. All FCS students helped to paint the faces of the elementary students for homecoming on September 28th.

Monday, October 8th, the FCCLA hosted a Fall FCCLA Workshop at GHS from 4:30-7 p.m. with 49 students from Gruver, Spearman and Canadian attending. Breakout sessions included activities for the National FCCLA programs for “The Leader in You”, “Stop the Violence”, “Student Body” and “Families First”. The National FCCLA theme, “Believe in Yourself” was emphasized in all of the sessions.
